Can women have braided hair in the military?

I am refering to Basic Training. Am I allowed to keep my braids there? I have thin rather short hair and I don't think it will work any other way.

Can women have braided hair in the military?

I have long hair I even took about 4 inches off before I left for BCT (06) , Yes you may have corn rows , you must have them go in one direction straight back no designs.. even with braids they cant touch your collar so if its long in braid pull it in a bun.

I keep my hair in a bun , make sure if you get braids you have the proper hair care (un scented) items you need , in BCT they dont carry alot of ethnic hair care products or have your family send you what you need.

try these sites below

Good luck!!!!

Can women have braided hair in the military?

Yes. As long as it is off your collar.

Can women have braided hair in the military?

Nope they will make you remove the braids. Your hair cant be any longer then shoulders and can be pulled up.

Glue-in or braided hair extentions???

I'm getting hair extensions tomorrow... Which is better glue-in or braided? And which one last longer?

Glue-in or braided hair extentions???

Glue-in extensions are okay but for a short period of time. They can become matted and if your not careful conditioner and/or hot water can make them come out.

Braided is better although they can tend to itch and become irritated but the following recipe will fix the itch and/or irritation.

Anti-Itch Serum for Scalp

(Use for braids, weaves or for any irritation caused by tension)

1 cups water

1 cup witch hazel

10 drops lavender essential oil

10 drops rosemary essential oil

20 drops tea tree oil

Mix all in a spray bottle. Shake well, and spray on scalp irritations as needed. Keep chilled for extra relief.

Glue-in or braided hair extentions???

Braided is always better, glue breaks off your hair

Glue-in or braided hair extentions???

Braided extensions are better for your hair but they can sometimes fall out quite easily whereas the glued in ones are more likely to stay in your hair. However, glued in extensions can damage your hair and sometimes cause bald patches if left in for a long time.

Hair wavers?

are there any hair waver appliances that work really well. i don't wanna use a curling iron, because i don't like those %26amp;%26amp; they never make my hair what i want it to be. so does anyone know any good hair wavers or any other good ways to make your hair wavy. i have tried scrunching my hair %26amp;%26amp; braiding it %26amp;%26amp; i did use this one hair waver %26amp;%26amp; nothing works. i need some help because school starts soon! thanks.

Hair wavers?

ok you have to add a lot of hair spray and mousse to make your hair thick, then you curl it a little bit and there you go! but straightening your hair is much better! just put a headband and ponytail! all my friends liked it!...my hair's not thick or silky..just normal.

i never head of hair wavers, but there are perms, you can do them at the salon.

How do you 'braid' hair?

I want to do my hair in braids...but i don't know how...

How do you 'braid' hair?

Divide the hair you'd like to braid into three sections.

So lets say your hair is set up like this:

front-section (A) middle-section (B) back-section (C)

Step 1: Hold all three sections loosely in your hands. It should look like : A-B-C.

Step 2: Cross section 'A' over section 'B', so that it is now the section in the middle. It should now look like: B-A-C.

Step 3: Cross section 'C' over section 'A' (the opposite direction of Step 2), so that it is in the middle. It should look like: B-C-A.

Step 4: Cross section 'B' over section 'C' (the same direction as Step 2, but opposite of Step 3), so that it is the section in the middle. It should look like: C-B-A.

Step 5: Cross section 'A' over section 'B' (same direction as Step 3, not Step 2 or 4), so that it is now in the middle. It should look: C-A-B.

Continue that pattern of back and forth section crossing until your hair is braided as much as you would like.

How do you 'braid' hair?

Section your hair into three relatively equal sections. The middle section stays in place. Take the left side and put it over the middle section. Then take the right side and put it over the two. Then take the section that is now on the left and put it over the middle. Repeat all the way down until all the hair is braided.

How do you 'braid' hair?

first u take 3 strands of hair. then u cross each 1 over the other each time until u have done each 3! then u just keep repeatin this and adding a little more hair each time! I learned how 2 braid by simply watching so this is the best way i can explain but i hope i helped u and I kno if u just keep at it u will soon learn! HAVE FUN!! hope ur hair look great!!

How do you 'braid' hair?

STEP 1 --------seperate the hair into 3 groups.

STEP 2----------Take the 2 groups that are on the ends.

STEP 3 ----------Put them across up then put them across each other down till you get to the end.

STEP 4 ----------Put a tie at the end.

STEP 5 -----------Follow these rules

Step 6-----------LOOK GOOD

How do you 'braid' hair?

Take a section of hair, and divide it into three seperate pieces. Holding on to the pieces you take the left piece and cross it over the middle. Then you take the right piece and cross it over the middle. Then go back and take the left piece and cross it over the middle. You keep doing this until it is braided.

How do you 'braid' hair?

you section the hair that you want to braid into three sections or seperate strands. you would take the strand at the right and fold it over the center strand keeping strands seperated. pull the strand that was in the middle to the right. Now take the stand on the left and fold it over the center strand and pull the center strand to the left. Continue doing this until you are at the end of the strand and then put a type of rubber band at bottom.

What hair treatment or products can I use to smoothen the texture of dry coarse hair which has split

this forces me to have my hair braided for 12 months in a year because it is just imposible to manage it. braiding further weakens the hair and causes breaking.

What hair treatment or products can I use to smoothen the texture of dry coarse hair which has split ends?

the stuff that has the kangaroo on the commercial, I cant remember what it is called.. it is in a purple bottle with a pump on the top, get the moisturizing kind. It is great for dry hair and split ends.

What hair treatment or products can I use to smoothen the texture of dry coarse hair which has split ends?

i love using Avon's dry end serum. i squirt about 5-6 drops in my hand, rub my hands together and start with the ends and then smooth my hands over the rest of my hair, it makes split ends less noticeable and makes my hair very shiny and soft.

What hair treatment or products can I use to smoothen the texture of dry coarse hair which has split ends?

Some tips:

Deep condition once a week with a heavy conditioner (add some olive oil and an egg if you can).

Wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo, then add extra oil (jojoba, olive, castor, almond - but NOT baby oil) to the ends of your hair. Dry split ends need to be moisturized with a waterbased product (like a moisturizing conditioner) then sealed with oil to keep the moisture in.

If you must use shampoo, do it less often and choose a moisturizing shampoo (not a harsh one, and not a "clarifying" one).

Don't mishandle your hair when combing to avoid more split ends. Be gentle. Use a detangling comb (it's teeth are curved) and start at the bottom then work your way up to the top. Never yank or pull the tangles from your hair. Soak your hair in conditioner and water before combing to make the comb glide more.

Trim your ends. Split ends tangle themselves and create more of a messy hassle.

Use a creamy leave-in conditioner after washing your hair.

How do you braid hair for weaves?

I want to know how to braid hair to put waeves in and also i wanted to know how to do braids in the front of the head and put weaves in the back. I want to know how i would go about doing that and i also wanted to know how to tie a knot on the ends of the tracks and if anyone has any avoce on what to do please help Thanks!!!!!!

How do you braid hair for weaves?

to braid hair for a weave just braid in a straight line where u want to sew the weave in but not all the way to or from the end or your head because u would probably be able to see it.....at the end of the track sew the thread around it and if the thread is long enough then take the loose part and with the needle tie it into a knot or u could cut it off the needle and tie it by hand

How do you braid hair for weaves?

Hi, You need to do on the scalp braiding. They have to go around the head in rows. about 1/2" in apart or closer depending on how much hair you are weaving in. The knot is just a standard knot, just make sure its tight!!

How do you braid your hair with a ribbon in it?

so i know how to braid hair all i'm asking is how do you do braid a ribbon into your hair?

How do you braid your hair with a ribbon in it?

Divide hair into 3 sections like normal. Pin the ribbon on the backside or slip it under a pony tail holder. Add the ribbon to one of the sections, and all the way through.

How do you braid your hair with a ribbon in it?

only use two strands of hair and braid the ribbon in. It looks so complicated, but it's really easy.

How do you braid your hair with a ribbon in it?

Divide your hair into five strands, and pin the ribbon at the top of the braid, but a little bit under the hair.

Now combine four of the strands into two strands, and combine the ribbon and one of the strands into your third strand, and braid as usual.

How do you braid your hair with a ribbon in it?

there are 2 ways....

1.) use the ribbon as one of the 3 chuncks of hair that you braid......

2.) Take the ribbon and lay it on one of the 3 chuncks of hair that you braid..

I'm getting my hair braided soon, what can I do to minimize the amount of hair loss associated

braided hair? I'm hoping to achieve faster hair growth by having it braided.

I'm getting my hair braided soon, what can I do to minimize the amount of hair loss associated with?

use doveshampoo it reduces hair fall[by my own experience]

I'm getting my hair braided soon, what can I do to minimize the amount of hair loss associated with?

try conditioning it with egg white a few days before... its quite simple... beat the egg white wid a lil hair oil... and apply it to your scalp untill it dries... then wash it off with plain water... do not use shampoo untill atleast a day later... it'll help ur hair grow faster...

I'm getting my hair braided soon, what can I do to minimize the amount of hair loss associated with?

condition hair well with hot oil treatment before and make sure you use coated rubberbands co they dont break hair off

I'm getting my hair braided soon, what can I do to minimize the amount of hair loss associated with?

If you are planning to braid your hair, I would suggest that you have it done by someone who knows what they are doing. For example ask your braided not to put too much tension on your hairline. By doing this you will not experience hair loss that usually occurs when hair is pulled too tight. Also make sure that you do not keep your braids in too long, no longer than 6 to 8 weeks. This will minimize hair breakage on removal and your hair will not get tangled up and possibly turn into dreadlocks. By the way, braiding your hair will not make it grow faster. Maximum growth is 1/2 in. every month regardless of style.

What happens to synthetic hair when it gets wet?

I have not had synthetic hair braids in years and I was curious. I want to focrotchet braids because they cause the least amount of damage to my hair based on my persoanl experience with different braiding techniques. I just cannot remember what happens to synthetic hair, wether straight, braieded or curled, when wet? I know you cannot curl synthetic hair as it will burn... PLEASE HELP! BTW... I ask because I am going on vacation and want to do the crotchet braids but I plan on doing ALOT of swimming. Thanks!

What happens to synthetic hair when it gets wet?

Synthetic hair gets really heavy when it gets wet, and because the weight (especially in a salty sea water) curls will straighten out. I have had MANY different kind of synthetic hair extencions and the worst thing for them is the sea water.

What happens to synthetic hair when it gets wet?

Best if you use synthetic water.

What happens to synthetic hair when it gets wet?

It will be messy and you wont be able to comb it or style it into perfect look. Bring some gel or cream to deal with the hair.

What happens to synthetic hair when it gets wet?

It gets very knotty. Your best bet is Yaki or something closer to human. Wear a swimming cap that may help

Natural hair?

i got my relaxed hair cut a week ago and now its about three inches long. in the future i want to get double-strand twists in my hair when it grows a little longer. but for now im going to consider getting my hair braided with weave. is this a bad idea? im hoping my hair will grow with the braiding whats the best style i should consider. i have very thick course hair. its types 4b. i put pink hair lotion on my hair while its wet but it drys up a couple of min later. i use grease in my hair but it wears it down. what should i do about this situation.?

plz help.

Natural hair?

I'm a 3c natural. Welcome to the club! The first thing that you want to consider is how to help your hair grow in a health state. Sew-ins are a good idea, but it is important to maintain your natural hair. With 4b type hair, be sure to keep the scalp moisturized and to get your hair rebraided every 3-5 weeks to prevents matting and excessive breakage. Keep your ends trims every 4-6 weeks and avoid excessive heat treatments. The double strand twist will come in time. You can do it without weave once your hair stretched is about 5-7 inches long. For products, depending on how you wear your hair, I suggest using a leave-in conditioner after washing and every other day in between. Grease your scalp with African Pride Magical Gro. For extra shine and moisture, use Dark and Lovely's Healthy Shine. Hope this helped some.

Natural hair?

THERE IS A PRODUCT OUT CALLED "REGROW". ITS GREAT. THEY HAVE SHAMPOO, HAIR LOTION, HAIR GREASE ETC. YOU SHOULD TRY THEIR PRODUCTS TO HELP YOUR HAIR GROW. DOUBLE STRAND TWISTS WONT STAY IN YOUR HAIR UNLESS ITS NATURAL OR UNLESS YOU GET KINKY TWITS (DOUBLE STRADNS WITH ADDED FAKE HAIR. IF YOU CANT FIND THE REGROW KIT, TRY USING LUSTERS PINK OIL. MAKE SURE ITS LUSTER THOUGH AND NOT MOTIONS.

Natural hair?

be natural..black is beautiful

Natural hair?

In my experience, braids have helped my hair in terms of reducing breakage. Conditioning is the key in any case. I don't use braids anymore and have midback length hair. It is not 4b hair, but still curly. I relax mine and highlight it so its really prone to breaking. I recommend doing a VO5 hot oil treatment once or twice a month. I also use Pantene ProV Sleek and Smooth (the green and white bottles) to wash my hair. I also wash it only once....maybe twice a week so that I don't strip the moisture from it. Good luck!

Natural hair?

There are tens of hundreds of ways they will tell you for your hair treatment. But you must ensure that the treatment itself doesnot produce any side effects.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

I have bi-racial hair. Its thick, long, %26amp; curly. I will be getting it braided soon because it is the summer. Should I get it braided while its wet or dry??

Get hair braided wet or dry?

Absolutely do NOT let anyone braid your hair while wet. Hair shrinks as it dries, if it is pulled back and braided tight than as it dries your hair could shrink enough to pull tight enough to cause breakage. Hair should always be braided dry. If your stylist suggests braiding wet or even damp than grab your purse and RUN outta there.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

Wet, its probably going to be much eaiser to tame.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

wet, they are eaiser to braid and will put together and tighter wet rather then dry.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

gurl gyt it dry

Get hair braided wet or dry?

it depends....how much does your hair frizz when you take it out of a normal braid...more when you have it wet or dry....if one is less frizzy then the other go with that one

Get hair braided wet or dry?

Braid it while it's dry - after you give it a good conditioning. This way your hair won't break while it dries.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

wet i think as it dries the braids should get tighter i think

Get hair braided wet or dry?

Get it braided while it's wet. Usually hair is easier to control when it's wet.

Get hair braided wet or dry?

Braid it damp; if you braid it dry, you will have to pull tightly to get the braids to stay in, and that could lead to traction alopecia.

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

how much would it cost to get my hair braided

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

that all depends on who i sbraiding your hair, how you want it braided, and how long your hair is.. you should go ask the stylist how much they charge..or you could find a friend that can braid and ask them to do it and give them a little something something..they are getting paid im sure they wont complain..or youc ould be like me and just get creative and braid it yourself..there are lots of options for you to consider

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

Pone several salons in your area and get some prices, or stop someone that has their hair like you want to wear and ask them how much they paid for it and where they got it done.

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

It depends on what you're trying to get.

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

ill braid it today.

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

Depends. Cornrows with natural hair usually run anywhere from $40-$80. To add extensions can run $100 and up depends on the expertise level of the braider.

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

Idk but make sure you dont leave them in too long b/c they start dread locking after a while and GOOD LUCK getting the braids out!!! ITS A PAIN!!!!!

I wanna paid for someone to braided my hair?

Around $50. If you want weave or extensions add another $50-$100 to that!

Why do white girls get their hair braided during spring break?

maybe there are lots of hair braider people there and they entice them into doing so.

Why do white girls get their hair braided during spring break?

There's nothing wrong with braided hair. Our granddaughters had their hair done when the family went on a cruise. It's not a "black thing". That is a racist

remark and I feel sorry for you. I would have thought that you were better than

that. If I had the money, I'd get mine partially done the way our granddaughters

did. It's cool and I think that it looks really smart. This comes from a 65 year old

who is not an old fogey or racist. Why would this bother you? You know--I feel

really sorry for you. : {

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

kk i my hair is is in individual braids(singles) and my hair was like to my armpit lines but now that its braided it looks shorter like a lil past my collar bone and i can see my real hair threw th senthetic hair but yeah is ther somthing wrong

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

thats usually what happens cuz your wrapin your hair in eachotehr in knots(is that the right term). but yeah that always happens

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

Think this through. When your hair falls naturally it is down to your armpit line. When you braid it you twist it around, so it is no longer going in a straight line to your armpit. It's taking a detour. Think of a string that you can lay (straight and tight) on your keyboard from the "A" to the "L." If you now bend that string and make it go across the "7" key, it will no longer be able to touch both the A and the L.

You know, the whole "shortest distance between two points is a straight line" thing. :D

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

Braiding always takes up about 25% of the length of whatever is being braided, whether it's hair, rope, leather strands, or whatever.

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

umm no not really it could just from the braids like pulling your hair up if your really worried take a braid our and look at your hair and see if it's ok and or flat iron that piece and see if it's still at your armpit

ok let me know how it goes

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

no theres nothing wrong. when you braid your hair you're bending it around other bits of hair, so it gets scrunched up. So imagine that your hair is just down and you scrunch it up to crimp it or something and it gets shorter because your holding it. same thing.

I got my hair braided and it seems shorter!!!sistah please help me put?

nuttin is wrong your hair is just raised up a tab bit from the braids...try some mousse to hold down the fly aways

Frizzy, braids,hair loss?!?!??

In 2005 my family went to Jamacia and i got a bunch of tiny braids in my hair. It looked really cool!! but 2 weeks later when i took them out my hair became really FRIZZY and my hair falls out!! If i just take my hand and pull my hair, a couple strands of hair fall out!!! It really weird!! Any idea why it does that?

Frizzy, braids,hair loss?!?!??

This still happens? After 2 years? That wouldn't be from the braids. Initially, after you take braids (especially micros because they're so small and tight on caucasian hair) you will see a lot of hair loss (but keep in mind that's 2 weeks worth of hair loss...at 100 hairs/day for 14 days = 1400 hairs you see coming out at once) and maybe some temporary breakage and frizziness, but after you wash/condition and flat iron for a few days it should have been back to normal.

Now, it may be from heat styling too often.

Frizzy, braids,hair loss?!?!??

that's so normal! i did that in the carribean and when i came home, i took them out and i looked like a freakin' LION! lol but for awhile, my hair was constantly falling out. it's normal, your hair was just pulled so tightly. use plenty of conditioner. good luck%26lt;3

Frizzy, braids,hair loss?!?!??

that's happened to me to when my family went on a cruise, i think it's because the braids stay in your hair and you don't brush it forms lots of knots and then they just come out

Frizzy, braids,hair loss?!?!??

Whenever You Get Braids It Grows Your Hair Out, The Frizziness Is The After Affect The Braids Give You From Being Bunched Up For So Long And The Reason Your Hair Comes Out Is Because Its Dead Hair, Always After You Take Braids Out You Hair Will She'd The Old Growth To Make Space For The New Growth..

What's the best way to make my hair straight? (Black Guy)?

I have good braiding hair, but I want to wear a smooth, straight ponytail. When I take my hair down, it's not long enough to put in a ponytail, or won't stay long enough for long, although my hair really comes down past my shoulders.

I normally wear my hair in braids/cornrolls, but I want to wear my hair in a ponytail. When I get my hair braided, my stylist washes it, shampoos it, and blow dry/hot combs it (with some device that does it together) My hair comes down to about my mid-back afterwards. That's the only way I've had my hair straightened since I've been growing it.

Is there a way (perm, iron, etc.) to have my hair already straight enough when I take my braids down so all I have to do is wash it, comb it and put in a ponytail and it last a whole day?

-or-

What's the best thing to do (safe thing) to make my hair straight after I take my braids down so I'm able to put it in a ponytail and it last the whole day?

And will making it straight make my hair harder to braid?

What's the best way to make my hair straight? (Black Guy)?

WELL YOU CAN TRY USING A SOFT CURLY PERM (THIO RELAXER) INTSEAD OF USING RODS COMB THE SOULUTION THROUGH, ITS LESS HARSH ON YOUR HAIR. OR YOU CAN GET THE SODIUM HYDROXIDE RELAXER, BUT U NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE EXPERIENCED WITH IT OR YOUR HAIR CAN DISOLVE YOUR HAIR, IT DISOLVES LIKE NAIR FOR YOUR LEGS, IT WOULD BE EASIER TO MANAGE ANY WAY YOU WANT

What's the best way to make my hair straight? (Black Guy)?

Yeah you need to get the relaxer after that buy GHD STRAIGHTNERS .!!!!!!!!!

What's the best way to make my hair straight? (Black Guy)?

dont wash it when u take the braids out. addind water to it will just make it shrivel up. just comb and brush it into a ponytail. dont put no perm in it!!! or just get it washed, blowdried ,then flat ironed. go to the shop or got to somebody who really knows what they r doing so u dont end up snappin on somebody for burnin yo scalp or your hair. i had buttas for years. thats how i do to keep from perming it.

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braid

My hair broke off in the front right side of my hair. I would say almost a quarter of my hair is gone. My hair is not even that long to be braided. I am African-American. I will be braiding my hair. Are there treatments I can perfom while my hair is braided so it can be grow faster? Currently, I can not put my hair in a ponytail(it is like 2 inches). How long will it take so I will be able to put it in a ponytail?

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

It would help if i knew what made your hair come out. Especially because it is only on one side of your head.Braids are great and it will keep you from putting chemicals in your hair.Couple tips...

NO RELAXERS, try Silk Elements conditioner with cholesterol and word of advice, do not wash your hair with shampoo right now. While your hair is dry apply conditioner wait ten minutes or more and rinse. While your hair is in braids Tea Tree cream works well to keep your scalp disinfected. And you can use olive oil to moisturize.Make sure your braids arent ridiculously tight.

Try not to sleep on that side of your head as well.Holler at me if you need anything else.

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

dang gurl, i dont know what to tell you except pray for your hair to grow back. and grease it every day

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

Yes it will grow longer and faster if you put it in Braids, also try putting in leave in conditioner. That should help you out

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

there aren't any products which can make your hair grow faster but you could try taking vitamins to help make your hair get healthy and stronger.. and hair grows about six inches a year..

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

2 months and least

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

Well from experience, I had those microbraids for 3 months %26amp; my hair hardly grew. Why do you think it broke off? If you defenitely going to get braids just make sure you keep your scalp moistured. Afterwards limit the amout of heat you use on your hair as well as chemical treatments. I use to relax %26amp; color my hair %26amp; it was breaking off so I quit coloring it. It was neck length, now it's almost to my shoulders.

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

Don't braid your hair, it could break it off even more. I would suggest that your find a really good hair dresser and make weekly appointments to get your hair back in shape. You will need alot of deep conditioners to help it become healthy. Then once your hair gets back into shape, you should not style it in just a pony. Ponytails break your hair off if you wear them too tightly or too often.

My hair broke all off. I don't want to cut off the rest of my hair, can my hair grow with braids?

jeez girl...

did you get a strong perm or something?

well,if its long enough for extensions then get extensions on that part and get it out when it grows back.or you can wear a bandana or a wig.

there are some fast hair growing stuff but i don't remember the brands

Can u sew in weave without braiding it because i have REALLY short hair?

I wouldn't call it sewing exactly. It's called EZ Weft and is similar to the hair fusion. No braiding or bonding is required. Check out the page I placed in the source area.

Not sure if bonding is a problem for you but it is also and option. Altough it can be a pain and messy at times, it is a certain way of getting extensions and enhancement to your hair. One thing I like about bonding is if you don't like it, you can take it out right away!

I hope this helps!

Can u sew in weave without braiding it because i have REALLY short hair?

dunno, but you can glue it on tracks.[how did the white boy know that!!!]

Can u sew in weave without braiding it because i have REALLY short hair?

depends on how short, if its really short, what is usually done is synthetic hair is braided into your hair, and then your hair is sewn down, and then the weave is applied. glueing weave is harful enough, why break it out even more? other option is a nice hair growth system, have hair french braided, and wear a lacefront wig which is taped to the hairline and looks so natural you can not tell. try it, i use to wear them all the time.

Does anyone know a braiding technique when braiding down your own hair to add extensions?

Use the beehive braid. Thats where you start braiding from the outside of you hair to the middle in a circle. It won't get fat if you dont pick up too much hair while braiding.

A website that teaches how to braid hair?

Basically, I've been braiding my hair for a while now and I'm getting tired of paying. I want my sister to learn how to braid. Does anyone know of a online video or website that teaches people how to braid cornrows? thanks and God bless you all.

A website that teaches how to braid hair?

* STEP 1: Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow drying it as smooth as possible. Braiding hair that hasn閳ユ獩 been washed that day and already has hair products in it also works well.

* STEP 2: Divide tangle-free hair into three even sections. Place the left section between your left index finger and thumb, let the middle section hang free and place the right section between your right index finger and thumb. This will begin to create the hair braids.

* STEP 3: Grab the middle section with your right middle finger and pull it so it passes behind the right section. Extend your right thumb and index finger so the portion of hair therein becomes the middle section.

* STEP 4: Use the left middle finger to pull the middle section behind the left section. Extend or straighten the left index finger and thumb to make the left section become the middle section. Pay careful attention to the smoothness and tension of your hair braid sections.

* STEP 5: Shift the portion of hair hooked in the right middle finger so it sits between the right index finger and thumb. Repeat the process, then shift the portion of the hair hooked in the left middle finger so it sits between the left index finger and thumb.

* STEP 6: Continue until you achieve the desired length of the hair braid. Make a tighter, more compact braid by pulling the middle section into a horizontal line as you pull it to the right or left. For a loose, elongated braid, simply shift the middle section to the right or left, letting it remain in a vertical line.

* STEP 7: Tie off the ends of the hair braid with a covered rubber band. Add a bow or barrette when appropriate.

Any books or web-sites on braiding and styling little girls hair?

Im a full-time single father for about 2 and a half years now and my girls are getting tired of the basic pony-tail or hair band.

Any books or web-sites on braiding and styling little girls hair?

Believe it or not, just last night I went on-line to learn to french braid. I just went to the "search" box, and typed in "HOW TO BRAID HAIR". It teaches you step by step, and some websites are actually live braiding.

When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?

especially babies with afro hair?

When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?

I had to tie up my daughters hair in a little ponytail on the top of her head from 5 months. She just had so much of it, lol.

If you can, and need to, it's not a bad idea to get them used to it early, if you wait too long you're going to have a big struggle on your hands!

i was a baldy so my mom used corn syrup to stick a bow to my head (people liked to mistake me for a boy.) it stayed put and wasn't a choking hazard. don't use barrettes; those are choking hazard and if she gets ahold of that it's going straight in her mouth. just make sure whatever you do is secure and make sure that if you loose a ribbon or band that you find it and don't put her to bed with them in. i bet she looks good sporting a fro. ;o)

When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?

If you want to try braiding your babies hair in cornrows or small plaits then i would recommend you wait until she is a year old and remember not to pull her hair too tightly.

You can tie her hair into bunches anytime her hair is long enough to be gathered up, but yet again be careful not to pull her hair too tightly.

You can also buy special headbands to go around your babies head which look adorable if she doesn't yet have enough hair to be tied up.

p.s - don't forget to use appropriate Afro/Caribbean hair products in her hair (eg beautiful beginnings).

If you can manage it, do it whenever your babies hairs long enough.

When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?

I did it whenever their hair got long and thick enough. For example, my 5 year old has very thin hair, so what I do with hers is limited. Where on the other hand, my 3 year old daughter has long, thick hair, so I can do more with hers. It just depends on texture and length.

My hair is shoulder length. Is it too long if I want the weave to hang loose, and the actual braid to be really short?

no. just put a rubber band on the end where the weave stops

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

For 3 yearz I would get my hair braided and i havent had a relaxer since my freshman year. For my senior year I want to get a relaxer and wrap but when should I take my braids out and how long should I let my hair breath for before i get one?

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

If school starts soon like in a week..... Take your braids down now and let her breath for about 5 days because your scalp is gonna need air then on the fifth day or the weekend before school start put a relaxer on your head

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

at least 2 weeks

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

my mothers a hair stylist and she told me to tell you to get one as soon as u take down ur braids. but dont scratch. it will burn like hell. also before u take down ur braids grease ur scalp

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

All you have to do is....wash it. But when you go to get your hair relaxed dont wash it the day before. dont even brush it., because the relaxer can irritate if you do. but as far as waiting you really don't have to.

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

If you HAVE to get your hair relaxed, have the beautician take a look at the state of your hair. She'll likely have a great idea of your hair's shape.

I would, however, recommend that you get your hair pressed and not relax it at all. Relaxing it will only kill the great strong hair that you've been growing all these years. You'd be surprised at how great and thick and shiny it will look after a press.

Good luck either way, and happy GRAD!

How long do I have to wait until I can put a relaxer in my hair after braids?

Hi, depending on the texture of your hair you should try to wait in between 3 weeks - 1 month.

Sounds like you could have had a reaction to the synthetic hair. If the braids are out and you are still getting these bumps then you may want to seek help from a Dr. It could be something that may require attention. I think every braider has their own perference. Some will wash the hair before using it, however it depends on the type of hair being used. Vinger and water works for some hair and damages other. I always side on the test run. If you really want to try to wash with vinegar and water. Test a small area, braid it, leave it in for a few days and see if you have any problems with the hair or any scents that may linger. Do not do apple cider vinegar, regular vinegar is preferred by a majority of people.

How do i stop from breaking out around my hairline after getting my hair braided?

I just got my hair braided on the 3rd. My braids dont feel that tight anymore but i am breaking out around my hairline. In the front is fine but i cant see it in the back. I use a braid spray that has tea tree oil and it brings the pimple to a head and it hurts. What can i do to help from breaking out? or what can i do to pop the pimples i cant see?....(gross i know)

Wow - what a terrible braid job! There isn't anything you can do because the person who braided your hair, braided WAY TOO tight! I never braid that tight for that simple reason. Unfortunately, the only thing that you can do is to go back to the braider and tell her to loosen them up (which she should do for free). The braids around your hairline may come out and you don't want this to happen, so call the braider ASAP! By the way, don't pop those things, it can cause a sore and that's way grosser than just getting your braids loosened.
