How do I braid/plait my hair like the mexican artist Frida Kahlo?

I'm working on an art exhibit/homage for her birth centennial this year (July 2007). It would be really great if someone can give me a detailed procedure on how to braid hair like hers, with and without ribbons.

I tried searching the web; didn't find anything.
