Is there any way to get my straight hair to hold waves?

My hair is naturally straight. It's almost impossible to get waves with curlers and its hard for my to use a curling iron without frying my hair. Braiding it overnite doesn't work either.

Usually using foam curlers overnight starting with damp hair makes the most long-lasting curls possible. If that's not enough try soaking your damp hair in tons of "hard" hair gel first (it won't really be hard when it dries in long hair!) and make sure that you're hair isn't so wet that it won't dry overnight... if it dries before the curlers come out you'll have the most persistent curls. Then in the morning if necessary spray everything with hairspray and let it dry before taking out the curlers. If that doesn't work nothing will! Unless you want to go and get a perm...

I'm sure braiding it overnite would help you just need to apply a gel or mousse to it. Also try a wet-set using curlers with setting lotion and rolling it and letting it air-dry or sitting under a hooded dryer. Another option is hot rollers with a little mist of hair spray before you put them in.

I have used Pumping Curls by Loreal. Just spray it in your damp hair and scrunch it while blow-drying. For extra volume hang your head upside down while blow-drying. I also have straight hair and that is what I do.

BUY THAT SHAPING MOOSE AND FINGER TWIST LITTLE SECTIONS OF YOUR HAIR.

YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE TWISTS OUT,LEAVE THEM IN AND IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES YOU'LL SEE THE RESULTS.

twisting sections of damp hair and then pinning them down overnight or using soft curlers overnight works for me too. if your hair is still resistant, maybe you need some hair product like gel and hairspray to keep the hold

Towel dry your hair, flip it over and spray "Guts" from REDKEN on your hair. Scrunch it, and twist it with your fingers. Then spray hairspray on it, and continue to scrunch. After you do this, then let your hair airdry, don't blowdry it. If you want, you can add a bit of gel and scrunch that in, too. Good Luck :)

Well a couple things you can do is use hair curlers/sponge curlers and spray hairspray on them when they dry.

You can also try using a heavy mousse, it's meant to keep curls intact and it helps curl them a bit.

You can also try getting a perm, it costs money, but if it's what you really want, go to a hairstylist and ask for a perm.

Good luck! :-)

hi, yes there are ways.....

1.find some really good hair gel and liquid hairspray

2.after getting out of the shower towel dry your hair , but not too much where it will dry the hair ,( you will still need wetness.)

3.brush out the tangles ,then after doing that rock your hair in the air 1 time

4.apply gel and alittle bit of hairspray and if you have a diffuser then do use that(its the best)

5.scrunge your hair with your hands all around as drying the hair with diffuser.

6.you will need a bunch of butterfly clips

7.grab pieces of hair and scrunge it to the scalp and clip

8.repeat till you get all hair clipped up

9.wait for about 15 or 20 min to put hair down

10.Finally,After hair is down use the diffuser once again and scrunge the rest of the hair dry .then apply hairspray

If you have a stubborn straight hair, you can go to a professional salon to get a perm. No, it doesn't have to be the Shirley Temple kind. The perm will keep your hair from straightening, and you can occassionally use a curling iron to enhance your curls. Using some light mousse with conditioner after using a curling iron will also help keep its shape without the crunchy hard feeling.

And the best part, if you want it straight again, you can style it back straight too.
