k listen to me i know the kind of hair you have. (I'm black too) we don't have the same type of hair as white people so if you keep braiding it over and over without treating it, its going to get brittle and break. you need to right now go the the store and buy henna and placenta. its a hair treatment that works soooo good i thought it was magic! you can find it in a small brown package or a little bottle. it works amazing just make sure you read the directions before you use it. and treat your hair with that for a long time (about ten minutes). then wash it out and you can leave a little bit in. next you need to buy some very very very good high strength moisturizers. look for products made for black people because anything else just wont work...(trust me!). some of the best products for your hair world be black and sassy or others like that. look for anything that says cream strengthener or shine...(stuff like that). and you can also ask the people who work there for advice on buying the right product. and please...unless you want all your hair to fall out, stay away from braiding for a while. just put your hair in a pony tail...(yeah i know its hard)...but just don't braid your hair for a while. and about every week use that henna and placenta strengthener and you will notice your hair getting much much stronger!

Straighten it and when you work out put it in a ponytail so the moisture doesn't get it. =D

You most likely need to give your hair a break from the braids, We don't think about it, but our hair gets tired just like we do and causes for a change. I say leave the braids alone for a minute and try doing something else with it. I think sometimes when we find something that works for us we like to stick to it. Change is good. Also Olive Oil products works well in my hair, it keeps it well moisturized which helps with breakage. You can find Olive Oil products in your local beaty supply store or Walmart or even Walgreens. Good Luck to you.

You need to give your hair an intesive protien treatment followed by a good moisturising , and quit braiding your hair give it breaks before having it braided again.

hey i agree with everything "hey it's me" said and someone else mention the olive oil products..these ladies know what they are talking about because i pretty much maintain my hair the same way..an alternative to braids though is twists..the long flat twist can look alot like braids but don't strain you hair as much because i was worried about the problem you are having know so i asked my hairdresser first and twist are the way to go.

i recommend that you get olive oil fertilizing temple balm it's about $14 dollars and you can get at sally's or walgreens
