If you mean, do you need a beauticians sink...For braiding no. I used to work in a salon and quite a few people came in for extensions (which were braided in) and general braids, micro-braids, etc. A sink was never used in the process unless the client asked for a shampoo or if the client needed a wash or deep treatment. And I never recall a shampoo being given before braiding, I think because the hair already has the protective oils on it since braiding is a lot of work and stress on the hair, if you wash them out the hair is harder to work with and the oils aren'ts there for protection. It's good to still have one handy, you never know when you will need it. Hopefully you have a bathroom though...

It is difficult for your clients to effectively cleanse their hair and scalp with finished cornrows or braids, and they often wait until their next appointment to do it. it is also common to 'grease' the scalp before, and during, hairbraiding and it is recommended that you remove the old oils, and dandruff build-up , before applying new oils and conditioners. You've got to 'clean the kitchen' before you start cookin'!
