Does braiding your hair make it grow faster?

I think I heard somewhere that braiding your hair daily enables growth... true or not? I have an awkward hair length (3 in below shoulders) that I'm trying to grow out as quickly as possible.

no it doesnt but i made my hair grow faster by massaging my scalp with oil and then washing out with cold water. I also trimmed it every week to enable growth. now my hair is is 3/4ths doen my back. trust me it works!

ya it does, because your hair produces natural oils that speed growth so if u keep your braids in for a week then wash ur hair and u keep doing that then your hair will grow

there are products that do help your hair to grow. you should be able to get them at local stores (like WalMart). I cannot think of any at the time, sorry.

make sure when you wash your hair, you get all the shampoo and conditioner out. leaving these things in can inhibit your natural hair oil from doing what it needs to do.

My hairs the same length, too. so aggravating!!!

No I have never heard of that. I just braid my hair to make it look more curly or wavy.
