braids give ur hair a break from chemicals and hot straighteners but does not make ur hair grow.

ur hair will reach its maximum length in a healthy way.

but the speed of growth will b the same

Well my hair is about 4 inches above my butt and when I was younger my mom kept it braided so I would have to say yes.

go and ask for medicated braids, don't do them tight you will lose your hair. for best result keep it in for no longer than two weeks

Well personally, I think that it does, because my hair feels longer just the next morning if I braid it the night before, but I don't think that it was scientifically proven to lengthen hair. Sorry.

no causes more breakage. vitamins and water. really helped my hair grew 1 1/2 inches since June 4th.
