Hair braiding in Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen Mexico?

Has anyone had their hair braided in mexico before? If so what kind of braiding is it does anyone have any pictures of it? I would like to get it done but dont know the price or even if i would like the braid. Any answers would help. Thanks

I had mine done in Acapulco and it was $20 for my entire head. They can do all sorts of braids...either full braids, cornrows, partial cornrows...usually they'll have pictures and you can pick the style you'd like. The lady who did my hair had a photo album of examples. Usually the ladies who do the hair will walk up and down the beach, and it isn't hard to find someone willing to braid.

Mine took about an hour to do. They'll put some conditioning oil in your hair which will keep the braids looking relatively decent for about 5 days or so. The lady who did mine braided so tight, however, that it took me a few hours to take it all out.... BUT that just means she did an excellent job :-)

Edit to add: I was also able to shampoo my hair just fine, too. Just be gentle and massage the scalp and squeege it down the braids and rub the shampoo in gently! Also to let ya know... if you have full head-braids, your head will feel VERY heavy for the first few hours!!

in cozumel you can get your whole head braided into tiny braids however you want it, and it only costs like 20 bucks. sounds amazing, huh? we went on a cruise on Carnival Fantasy in july, and everyone on the ship had it done just about. if you are also stopping at progresso, you can get it there too. you'll love it. it's an easy breezy hairstyle for the boat and a lot of people will have it. you can take it out in a day or two if you don't like it, because for 20 bucks, who cares? have lots of fun. i'm jealous you're going and i'm working!
