How does braiding your hair make it curly?

I've been told to braid my hair then pull it out to make it curl? How does this work? Braids as in cornrows? or plaits? or twists?

Any braid. My sister has been braiding my hair and I leave it in for a day or 2 and when I take it out it leaves my hair in more like a series of long *fashionable* "S" strands. The larger the braid the bigger the curl and vise versa---I love it because my hair looks good in braids and once I take it out (depending on how it was braided) it looks like a model hair do that I can dress up--without gel. Braiding is awesome! (lol) I hope this helps. God Bless you, Cora V.

Thank you! for another hair tip, try braiding your hair when it's wet or to keep the braids in even longer have your hair moist with gel brushed through it before braiding. Again, thank you for picking my answer as the best! God Bless %26amp; peace be with you Cora V. Report It

How does braiding your hair make it curly?

Braiding doesn't make it curly....it just gives it waves. The only way to get curly hair is to curl it with a curling iron or curlers....or even a perm.

If you braid your hair when it is wet, then leave the braids in until your hair is dry, you will have some waves in your hair.

Depending on how small %26amp; tight the braids are. Several small, tight braids..you get more tight waves. One braid, or two braids, you get looser waves.

Hope it works out. It's an inexpensive way to change your hair.

Braid or Plait it while it is wet, after it drys take in down and it should be curly depending on how tight you braided it.

braid your in cornrolls but take a spray bottle and spray water on your hair, don't wet it too much just a little and then braid putting mousse on every braid. make sure the mousse doesn't contain alcohol as it can dry your hair out. if you are going under a dryer your braids will probably be dry in an hour maybe shorter. if not then just take them out in the morning.
