Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

I've heard that when you sleep you do a lot of damnage to your hair by tossing and turning, and that if you braid it, it helps it grow longer... However, I'm getting sick of wavy hair every morning.... Is this really true, and/or does it make a substantial difference?

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

u cant make ur hair grow faster....its STUPID!

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

I think that's a rumor actually for African American hair.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

i have never heard that. if you braid your hair kind of loosely does it still make it wavy? maybe get a straightener.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

Braiding breaks your hair. I'd leave it down.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

this is true only if you're black. i'm black and that's how we help our hair to grow when it's in it's natural state.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

i think braiding will cause breakage.. just wrap your hair in a silk scarf or buy silk or satin pillow cases

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

No. I don't know why anyone would actually think that.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

No, braiding your hair doesn't make your hair grow faster.

Must be a nice length now if you can braid it at all. No, but I have heard that massaging your scalp is one way to stimulate hair growth.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

It doesn't help it to grow, but by practicing damage-control, there is less breakage, which gives it a chance to grow longer.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

no. Try wraping it %26amp; the putting an a satin skarf

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

That isn't completely false, what happens is whenever you scratch, pull, or even massage your hair, it stimulates growth. And by braiding your hair the pulling does help, also people tend to "forget" about their hair when it is braided so therefore they notice alot more growth when it is time to unbraid there hair.

For example, if you are trying to grow your hair, you may check the length a lot and whatnot, but if your hair is braided for 2 months the length cannot be checked until it is unbraided and therefore when it is unbraided you can then see some length that has grown out.

Braiding your hair doesn't make it grow faster!!! Who told you that????????? Although braiding does help your hair stay less tangled....

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

Everyone's hair grows at different rates....it's your biology, you can't change it. I personally sleep with my hair down everynight and my hair grows extremely fast.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

Nope i don't it doesn't help because any time that you put your hair into a band to hold it you are causing breakage. A good thing that i have found to grow out your hair is biotin supplements. they have worked really well for me, i would take no less then 2500 mcg a day. It will take a month or two to really notice any difference, unless you had and dye put in your hair, then when the roots grow out you can see how much your hair has grown. Good luck=)

You can make your hair grow faster when you braid it the pressure of the braid to your scalp helps it grow a little faster. But yet the pressure will not hurt you.

Does braiding your hair at night actually help it grow?

No, that is completely false. Eat jello or something.
