Whenver i braid my hair it comes out either 2 limp, messy, or too small waves ( i hate that crimped look.)

Take sections of clean,dry hair and coil into mini buns on your head. Pin or clip them before you go to sleep and when you awake... big voluminous waves. Make sure that you use smaller sections for shorter hair and larger ones for long hair. Use a little silicone and volumizing gel on each section for more staying power. Whatever you do shake out the curls FIRST after removing the buns, and finger comb to the effect you like. Only brush SECTIONS if you must.
Another reason braids wont work as well, is that you probably have thin, fine hair like me and are braiding too tightly. Use sections in loose braids for a better effect. Happy styling!

soda cans. roll them in ur hair and clip them down with bobby pins or tiny clips. leave them in for 15 minutes or so. take them out, DONT BRUSH THOUGH. use ur fingers and spray some hairspray or finishing mist in it. try (herbal essences citrus lift finishing mist)

rollers. blow dry till damp not dry. section hair,spray with some sort of setting lotion spray and roll hair around velcro roller. blow dry more to dry, apply makeup, get dressed, eat breakfast, take out rollers once they've cooled and finger tossel. you will probably only need to do it every 3 days or so.
