Hair braiding on white person's hair question?

I had my hair braided before, but it started coming off after only about 2 weeks and after i took the braids out my hair was very very weak, i was wondering if that's normal? Because none of my black friends ever complain about theirs, so i was wondering if it depeneds on the structure of your hair? I want to get it braided again, because i think it looks awesome, but i'm scared that i'll go bald or something if i do that to my hair again! Is there anything i can do to make my hair stronger before and during when it's braided?

I had my hair braided before and my braids only lasted about 2 weeks as well. Although my hair wasn't weak after braiding it. Braiding actually keeps your hair from breaking, essentially making it stronger. Which is why many Black people choose to braid their hair.

I think that as white people our hairs texture doesn't grasp the hair well enough for the braids to stay in much longer than two weeks, especially if you are using artificial hair.

your hair maybe in bad shape. do you color or perm it? is it dry. if your hair is damaged or dry and you braided it tight it will put stress on the hair plus weaken the elasticity of the hair .i would use a really good cond. and when you get your hair done leave the cond. in it will help strengthen the hair

i wouldn't recommend it as beautiful as it may look because a white person's hair is very thin and brittle, braiding it strains it so much that it really isn't good for your hair.

Coming from a black person that braids all textures of hair Black or White people i will tell you this. Most girls with your hair texture seem to notice that but its not a kind of baldness its basacally your hair getting use to it. If you really keep the braids cosistently then sooner or later your hair will get use to it and you won't get no feeling of it being week.
