That's kind of a vauge question....I assume you want this answer: I would gather the hair from the top of my ears and around, the top half of my hair, and braid that, leaving the bottom half of my hair, the stuff closest to my neck down.

Usually i braid the top half near the scalp and braid all the way to my neck and leave the bottom half unbraided. Or you could do a half pony braid on the top and leave the bottom half from your ears down unbraided. Hope that helps.
